Hi. My 6 year old son started with chicken pox over weekend. he has been running temperatures on and off. we have found quite a large lump behind his right ear on his head and a smaller one at the base of the back left hand side of his head. He wears hearing aids but they arent from them rubbing. Wondering what they might be.

Does Chicken Pox Cause Large Lumps On Head?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic It is possible that the lump is an enlarged lymph node. Lymph nodes would be expected to become enlarged in response to infection. The nodes in the neck , the cervical lymph nodes, are the ones that most commonly enlarge in children. In most cases, they resolve within 4 to 6 weeks after the infection resolves. I hope this helps
