Hello, thank you for your time.. First off I am a Registered Nurse with 30 years direct patient care experience so feel free to use medical terminology. I have a diagnosis of mild Hydradenitis Superativa. I get occasional outbreaks that are limited to axilla, groin, & sometimes skin folds. But all my life, if i eat chocolate- not cocoa- but the whole chocolate product in any form other than cocoa, i develop inflamed, painfull red nodules on my face and buttocks only. I can even time it. They appear 12 to 48 hrs from chocolate consumption. They run their course going away within two weeks and never return unless i eat a piece of chocolate. Doesn t seem to matter what quality of chocolate or what is with the chocolate though i usually like it without added stuff. My question is: what exactly am i reacting to? No amount of cocoa powder will cause the reaction. But whole chocolate does.
