Does Constant Ringing In Ears Suggest Tinnitus?

My name s Andrew Bailey, and I think I have Tinnitus. I keep hearing a constant ringing in my ear(s). Couple of weeks ago, it was the right, now for the past couple of days, it s the left, and right at this moment, it s the right, or maybe both. It comes and goes, but with me being a big ball of nerves and insecurities, every time it starts, I get a dark, sinking feeling in my insides - I m kind of a paranoid idiot that way; I know it shouldn t bother me, but I still feel like I m going crazy with fear every time the ringing comes back.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have ringing in ear also known as tinnitus , which come and goes . Well there can be many reaons for symptoms you mention in query like TMJ problem ,hearing loss , impacted tooth , inner ear infection , wax build up and stress and anxiety . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist if frequency of bouts of tinnitus increases . Doctor may order hearing test , CT scan , examination with otoscope and blood test . Doctor may prescribe sedatives , antibiotics , anti inflammatory , anti allergic and recommend hearing aid . Doctor may also refer you to dentist if he/she find problem to be related with TMJ or impacted tooth . for now drink green tea thrice a day and do meditation and yoga .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
