Does Constipation Cause Acid Reflux And Excessive Burps?

I’m having severe acid reflux that is burning my throat. I’m burping a lot and it tastes like sulphur. I’m also having pain between the lower part of my breasts. And I don’t know if this is part of it but I have a lump in my back and it feels like it moves slightly and is growing daily. Can this be related to constipation?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes you are right; constipation may aggravate all such symptoms like acidity, abdominal discomfort. For that, you can take syrup Duphalac at bedtime. For acid reflux, take tablet Pantoprazole.

Avoid smoking, alcohol, hot and spicy food. You can endoscopy to rule out h. pylori infection, keep yourself hydrated, and do regular exercises.

I will suggest you to follow up with detailed history or consult with physician for detailed examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
