Does Consumption Of Red Bull Everyday Affect The Menstruation Cycle?
Hello, i am 19 and i have been constantly drinking red bull every morning for the past 2 months, if not in the morning then in the after noon. And i have been drinking alcohol on the weekends, i got my period on the 20th of last month and I'm late on my period this month, i have had sexual intercourse with my boyfriend but he did not ejaculate inside, my question here is that is it the affect of the energy drink ?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your query. * I don't think red bull consumption can affect menstrual cycle. It is an energy drink with caffeine , b complex & sucrose-in safe concentration * Alcohol when taken in large doses has been reported to hormonal imbalance & period irregularity. You are taking alcohol only at week ends /i hope in moderate dose. It should not case delay in period in that case. * You should exclude pregnancy by home pregnancy test- for even pre ejaculate has sufficient number of sperms to cause pregnancy, * if the UPT is -ve, investigations for delayed periods/ gynecological examination & specific treatment would help you. Thanks.
