Does Cramps, Headache , Nausea And Delay In Periods Indicated Pregnancy?

Hi, may I answer your health queries? Please type your query here...I had my last period on November 19th. I have regular periods and if I calculated correctly my last ovulation day should have been around Dec.3rd. I had unprotected sex on Dec.9th and took Plan B 70 hours later on Dec.12. I have missed my period and I started to have symtpoms one week after taking Plan B. My symptoms include, cramping, headache, nausea and soreness of nipples. I have taken many pregnancy tests and all are negative. I don't know what is going on. I need some answers to help me. Thank you.

Hi,
Since you had the intercourse way after the fertile period, you had no risk of pregnancy as the ovum has a very short life span of a maximum of 24 hours. As you have taken the emergency contraceptive pill, which contains a high dose of hormone thus disrupting the hormonal milieu of the body, you can expect withdrawal bleeding and your symptoms are due to the pill effect and suggest an impending bleeding. Your next normal period also may get delayed by a week or two and if you do not see your next period even ten days after it is due, please get further help from a specialist in person. Hope this helps.
