Does Depo Provera Trigger Alopecia?

My 16 yr. old daughter started getting Depo Provera shots for birth controll and about a month later we noticed a round patch of hair loss, she has been diagnosed with Alopecia. She cannot take any birth controll with hormones because of a blood clotting gene she has. Should she discontinue Depro Provera shots? Did it bring on Alopecia
