Does Derma Roller Cause Pimples?

Hi, I have recently started using a .5mm derma roller(I have used it twice) I normally have very clear skin and am using it to correct fine lines. Since using it I have broken out in red pimple like lumps all over my face. Can you please tell me if it is normal and whether or not to continue use. Thanks Alice

Hi.
As per your case history of pimples after using derma roller, my treatment advice is -
1. If derma roller is not used properly then it may cause folliculitis or acne.
2. At present stop using derma roller for at least 4 weeks.
3. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream once and an anti acne cream like clindamycin cream once daily.
4. Other treatment options are oral doxycyline, minocycline, oral isotretinoin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
