Does Diabetes Cause Breathlessness And Fatigue?

I am diabetic. and my blood sugar is 126. my left arm is aching and I am not really short of breath but it is bothering me a bit, I dont feel like Im getting a lot of air. Im a school teacher and I dont feel like I can keep up with my students I just want to find a place to take a nap. I had the flu last week and am wondering if it could just be the diabeties catching up or should I be concerned.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Breathlessness is not directly caused by diabetes mellitus
Breathlessness can be caused by disorders of cardiovascular system or respiratory system.
Diabetic patients are more prone to develop cardiovascular diseases.
Thus, you need to consult a physician or cardiologist preferably for clinical assessment.
Cardiac pain is known to radiate to left upper limb.
Regarding to blood glucose levels, level of 126 is high if it is fasting and normal if post-prandial.
In addition, get levels of Hba1c which measures the blood glucose control over last 6 months.

Thanks and take care
