Does Dislike Towards Being Social And Mood Swings Suggest Depression?

I don t participate in a lot of social activities. Often I am forced into being around people. I enjoy being in my room alone more than being around people. I am not in the greatest moods all the time and sometimes I m in a wonderful mood. I don t talk to many people. And I hate most people. I don t think I am depressed or anti social but I would like to know if you think that I am. Do you think I am anti social and depressed?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. but the features that you have described would have to be considered through the dimension of time and their effect on your quality of life have to be looked into to come at any conclusion. the information you have provided is not sufficient to be conclusive about anything.

still to help with your question
1. depression has a classical triad of depressed mood, psychomotor retardation i.e. sluggish with lack of energy and innitiative and slowed down thinking.

2. any mood disorder should be for at least an year to be diagnosed.

3. personality disorder like antisocial personality disorder as metioned by you is defined as disregard for and violation of rights of others and rules of society.
