Does Draining Of An Ovarian Cyst Cause Irregular Menstruation?

I have had itchy nipples with dark veins in them for the past two days and felt sick for a week. My last period was light pink with a clear mucus and lasted 3 days about two weeks ago. Now I am bleeding again and it is very light but bright red to brown. I want to steer away from the possibility of a pregnancy, but I had assumed that is the most logical explaination. My other question was if I had an ovarian cyst drained a month ago, could this have something to do with an irregulated period?
