Does Drinking Alcohol Affect The Fetus?

I just found out that I am pregnant. Before I found out I hand a few drinks of alcohol and 2 days ago I used Rid lice killer on myself because one of my student had a severe case of lice. I think I am about 6 weeks pregnant now. I am worried that my baby might have been harmed from what I did before knowing that I was pregnant. Please help!

Hi and welcome to HCM

The problem with drinking alcohol during your pregnancy is that there is no amount that has been proven to be safe. pregnant women who drink alcohol risk giving birth to a child with a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). These conditions range from mild to severe and include speech and language delays, learning disabilities, abnormal facial features, small head size, and many other problems

I advice you to consult your doctor and talk to him about this. He may suggest a ultrasound scan. Lice killer is also not recommended in pregnancy.

Keep in mind not to take any medications with out your doctor prescription during pregnancy. Also do sacrifice alcohol intake for 9 months for your baby sake.
