I had sex approximately 4 weeks ago and I was 2 days early on my period. I don't know for sure if it's my period. Maybe implantation? I've been having symptoms; fatigue, gas, tender/swollen boobs, cramps, nausea, bad smells. My question is, would it be an accurate result taking a pregnancy test when currently on my period or implantation spotting?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I can understand your concern. A woman having normal menstrual cycle with sex around ovulation & symptoms like sore breasts/nausea & 2 days earlier spotting ,can be expected to be pregnant. HPtT may not help at this phase, it may be too early to test now. It will give reliable reports after 8 days drlay in periods. A blood HCG testing will help you to diagnose pregnancy around expected date of menses. Thanks.
