Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
Having
unprotected intercourse during 11th day of your period has a great chance for conceiving as it is the 'fertile period' (provided your cycles are regular). Eating papaya will not have much effect on
pregnancy.
Since you are planning for
contraception for a year, before going in for 'copper T' insertion, you need to first confirm that you have not conceived this time.
Any contraception like pills and 'copper T' is known to have some side effects. None of them have been proved to be 100% safe or 100% secure.
Also not all of them adopting to any mode of contraception will experience side effects.
Relatively, 'Copper T' has been accepted well by many. Copper T is an effective
contraceptive and is one of the most immensely used methods of birth control worldwide. The failure rate is considered only 1% and many women use this method to remain stress free.
Some of the side effects which one could experience with 'Copper T' are:
Abdominal Cramps, Nausea, Low-
Backache,
Vaginal discharge and menstrual disturbances, Allergic Inflammation of the vagina,
Pelvic infection and Ectopic pregnancy.
You can decide and use any contraception which would suit you and which you would be comfortable with.
All the best.
