hi dr,i m a 27yr old lady, and i have been eating soil and soft stone since the age of 10 and i stopped at the age of 23, i also been having regular periods 28 days cycle, but really painful period pains, (which i have sorted now). my question is can eating soil and soft stones affect my fertility? ,thanks
Pica is an abnormal appetite for mud ,ice and other non nutritive substances.It can denote nutritional deficiency or psycological reasons.Kindly check your blood hemoglobin.
It can occur in pregnancy too.Kindly avoid pica since it can cause infection.You need to resist the temptation and find healthy food with similar food to resist the temptation.
