Does Extra Dosage Of Tylenol Alleviates The Pain On The Side Of Face?

Have had reoccurring headaches over the past 5-6 weeks. Went to ER last weekend. Had a CT scan and showed sinus infection. Took antibiotics and round of prednisone. Last prednisone yesterday. Headache has returned last night and all day today. It is unbearable. I have taken (1) floicet earlier in the day which helped just a little. Took a Lortab (1/2 at a time) about 2:00 and 4:00. Sinuses seem to be very dry, ears, jawl, teeth, temple, whole right side of my face in front of my ear extremely painful. Ice packs, heating pad, steam, nothing is helping. Can I take another lortab, or extra strength tylenol or alleve? Donna V

Hello,

I can understand your concern. If you are having sinus infection, NSAIDS would help you a lot like Tylenol. So you can take that once again. However, I am concerned regarding your problem as if it was just a sinus infection, antibiotics with steroids treatment along with all the heating pad and steam should sure have helped.

I would advise you to get your blood pressure checked once. If you had been checked for blood pressure in ER and was normal, I would also recommend one consultation with a dentist for presence of impacted or infected wisdom tooth on the right side of lower jaw or temporomandibular joint problem. Sometimes these pains are felt in ear, temple and even as headache.
