Does Extreme Anxiety Cause Blood In Stools?

My daughter is suffering lots of anxiety. She takes buspirone but it isnt really helping her anxiety. A chiropractor tested her and said she is allergic to protein in milk. Would this account for frequent and accasional blood in her stools? She doesnt know what to do cause she doesnt have any health insurance.

Hi welcome to the health care magic..

Excess stress and lactose intolerance can lead functional bowel problem and diarrhea respectively...

But blood in stool is not normal and it should be evaluated through examination

Proctoscopy examination done to rule out piles..

Stool examination needed to rule out bacterial or parasitic enterocolitis if pus cells or egg of parasites present

According to cause specific treatment given..For infective condition ciprofloxacin and metronidazole like antibiotic needed...

So don't worry and consult gastroenterologist for this and continue your antidepressant medication along with behavioural therapy

Take care
