Does Fall In Blood Pressure Cause Heart Attack?

Hi Doctor,

2 days back my aunt was admitted in hospital as she had a minor chest pain. the doctor gave her streptokinase injection and after that her blood pressure went down. The doctors were trying to bring the blood pressure back to normal, but my aunt died during this process. (The reason the doctors gave was that she had a massive heart attack). My question is has my aunt got the attack due to fall in blood pressure. Please advice

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Decrease in bp does not cause heart attack but it is vice versa. Massive heart attack causes damage to heart resulting in fall in bp which is a very fatal condition and has high mortality especially in older age groups.
I feel very sorry for your loss.
Take care
