I am 50 and a male and overweight by at least 12-15 kgs. I recently got my blood sugar tested and results were ( Fasting : 225, Random : 250). i don t have any symptom of diabetics yet and feel absolutely fresh. My Dr has advised me to control my diet and reduce body weight. He will again test me after sometime and see the results. If there is no improvement, then he will then put me on medication. My questions are : (1) Am I a diabetes patient now? (2) Can my sugar fall from 225 to 100 (fasting) & from 252 to 140 (random), just by adopting healthy life style (diet control & jogging). I am now on strict diet control with jog/exercise and have reduced my weight by 5 kg and my waist by 2 inches, in the last 4 weeks. Before my diet control programme, I was about 89 kg in weight and had 40 inches waist. Now after 4 weeks of intense diet control and jog, I am now 84 kg in weight and have a waist of 38 inches.
