Does Fasting Lead To Variation In Total Cholesterol And LDL Levels?

I am 26 and have a total cholesterol of 260. LDL around 170. Primary care physician is also put off a bit due to my age as well as my fitness. I exercise 4-5 times a week and rarely eat fast food. I am also fasting for ramadan so did that have any effect on the outcome of the blood test? Everything else is normal.

thank you for using our service. I reviewed your question in detail.it is important that you have fasting blood work to check cholesterol. Ramadan is very good to help you the fast and improve cholesterol. However it looks that your cholesterol problem most likely is genetic or familiar. That is why although you are keeping a healthy diet and exercise your total cholesterol and LDL still high. In this case most patients need medication. I hope that by medical advice has being helpful. Dr. JC.
