Does Fever With Swelling In Gums And Throat Need Medical Attention?

My husband has had flu like symptons over the weekend which included high temperature and weak legs. His temperature has now gone but still feels quite lathargic and has swollen/sore gums and neck glands are also swollen and sore to touch. I was just wondering if this needs medical attention or something we can treat at home. Thanks.

Hi and thanks for the query,
This deserves keen medical attention, especially if its for the first time , or if it is very frequent.
At times, antibiotics would be needed to avoid spread. Identifying the cause is of utmost importance. Causes are generally not life threatening, but at times could be serious. I suggest you see a Dr.
Kind regards
