Does Flaky Skin And Itching On The Navel Indicate Any Serious Disease?

My navel has started itching continuosly. I have noticed that I have large flakes of skin and I feel irritation frequently. I have used dove soap, for sensitive skin, forever. The same skin lotion as well. Nothing new in my environment. Is this a symptom of something larger? I have been diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome, 3.5 years ago I had Bypass surgery. I am an overweight female and I am 58 years old.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due eczema or irritation due to chemicals you are using like soaps or lotions. Using aloe vera gel for local application and soft paraffin will be helpful.
