Does Fluid Discharge From Itchy Poison Ivy Blisters Cause Infection To Spread?

I have a mild case of very itchy Poison Ivy. It seems to keep renewing more blisters or itchy spots even though it has been nearly a week since I was exposed.. does some of the oil sit dormant... also if a blister bursts.. does that fluid cause further spreading of the rash?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, in my opinion underlying cause of rash and itching could be the matter of concern and condition need to be treated accordingly if this is not ivy poisoning, if it is really ivy poisoning then most of the time it comes on its own but in severe case or long standing manifestation, "Diphenhydramine lotion" and aluminum acetate" can be applied, oral antihistamine can also be tried, hope this information may helps, take care and have a nice day.
I find this answer helpful
