Does Folic Acid Tablets Have Any Effect On Menstruation?

hi doc, i have irregular cycles, it may take 35 to 40 days sometimes, so i have started taking fefol folic acid tablets 0n 31-dec 2013, my LMP was 9th december, does folic acid tablets have any effect on menstruation? its been 3 yrs since i got married, um 22 yrs old.. n um trying to conceive, but i fail everytime.. so please give me a suggestion doc..

Hi Young lady. Per se Folic acid has no effect on menstruation. I would advice you both to visit a Gynecologist for both of you should go certain tests to see the cause of delayed periods as well as find and treat the cause of infertility. In the meanwhile do continue folic acid.
