Does Folinz Tablets Help In Abortion?

hi doctor,I am 2 months pregnant,today i visited my doctor and he advised for abortion because baby's growth is not satisfactory,he told some times abortion may happen naturally within 2 weeks,otherwise I have to go for D&C,he advised to take folinz tab for 20 days,sir my question is will this tab help for abortion??

Hello,
The medication you have been prescribed by your doctor contains folic acid and zinc sulfate and is not meant for inducing an abortion. It is usually given to maintain an early pregnancy well. If the fetal well-being is compromised and abortion is inevitable, you can undergo a surgical evacuation preferably since medical abortion can be given only until 9 weeks and also has high failure rate after 7 weeks gestation. It is also true that spontaneous abortion occurs many-a-time, but you should not wait for it to happen for more than a week. Hope this helps.
