Does Gallbladder Removal Cause Urinary Incontinence?
Hello. I am curious if everyone who has their gallbladder removed experiences some form of incontinence (urinary or fecal) and to what degree? Could it be slight and infrequent, moderate, heavy, or just depends on the particular patient and their body condition/general health?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Gall bladder removal (cholecystectomy) does not cause urinary incontinence. The anesthetic drug used for the survey may have some temporary effect on urine and bowel but it will revert to normal very soon. If the symptoms are severe, consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
