Does Headache After An Injury Indicate Concussion?

A few days ago I hit my right side of my head very hard into a cabinet in my house. My head was bleeding for about five minutes, but I have had a headace for a few days now. Is it possible that I may have a slight concussion?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. A lot of individuals develop headache after injury to head. You got injury on head followed by bleeding and this was not a mild injury. If you have developed no loss of consciousness, dizziness, any bleeding from nose or ears, any fit like episodes following trauma then there is no need to worry. If the headache is tolerable and is mild then any good OTC analgesic like Ibuprofen, Paracetamol would help. Also take plenty of water and fluids and this will reduce the headache. If symptoms worsens and persist then visit a doctor for help. Get a CT scan done to rule out any internal injury if any.

Thanks. I hope this helps you. Take care
