Hi and thank you for choosing HCM to share your question. I read your question carefully and understand your concern . Fluid in lung can result from many medical conditions and congestice heart failure is one of them. To determine the cause of the fluid in the lung, a fluid sample is usually taken with a procedure called thoracentesis .If the fluid is transudate(the fluid similar in character to the fluid normally present in the pleural space) in the setting of heart failure suggests heart failure as the most possible cause of it. In this case the treatment is that of congestive heart failure with adding on therapy some diuretics always according to the consultation both with the pulmonologist and cardiologist. I hope my opinion can be a help to you. Kind regards Dr.Dushi
