Does Heart Functionality Increase When Kept Under Sedation?
Thanks for all of your time, work and on going studying!! My dad had heart surgery at age 71 and turns 82 next month because of all of past and present people studying and improving themselves. It s because of your efforts I enjoy my father today. Yesterday my 28 year old son in law went into the hospital having a heart attach and only 20% of heart function. Today they still have him sedated and aren t going to take him off of it because his heart function went down to 10%. Will it go back up to 20% or not likely?

Hello Welcome to HCM Thanks for posting your query.I understand your concerns. As your son -in -law had an episode of heart attack also called myocardial infarction, the function of heart has come down to 20%.At this functionality slightest of the exertion will make the heart to fail.
So,sedation will be given to make the patient rest and decrease the workload on heart till the normal heart function returns or till some proper intervention like PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) or CABG is undertaken.
Timely intervention can help your son in law to recover. Wishing for speedy recovery.
Hope i have answered your query . Thank you
