Does High Blood Sugar After Food Affect Other Organs?

i am diabatic patient .i am taking regular madicine.my biood sugar in fasting in morning time is under 110 but after taking food my sugar label is 231.when i asked to my docter ,he saying that it will come six month to come under normal.is any effect on my organ due to high blood sugar after food?
