Does High Creatinine Level Indicate Kidney Disease?
Hi, I m 38 years old, female, 55 kg. I exercise a lot, lately doing quite a lot of weights. I have done a blood test for a new job and my creatinine level was 92 umol/l. My doctor tells me that this is not normal and indicate I have kidney problems. Is this level of creatinine abnormal?
The normal value for women is approximately 45 to 90, this can vary slightly from lab to lab. Some labs have an upper limit of 97.
Creatinine is also an indicator of muscle mass and dietary protein use in addition to kidney function. Lifting weights and putting on muscle would cause changes though your level would not be considered significantly abnormal at all.
I hope this helps
