Does High Dosage Of Gabapentin Cause Any Side Effects?

My sister is on Gabapentin; 300mg, 1 tab in the evening. She is 64 and was dx with early on-set Alzheimers at age 58. Her cognition is pretty good for as far into her disease as she is. I am her brother and she has asked me to take care of her as she has no other family living with her or near her. Unfortunately she is living in Oregon and I am working and living in CA. So I have caretakers living with her. Her main caretaker is a nurse and is asking me to consult with my sister s M.D. about increasing her dose of Gabapentin because she is hot and sweaty at night and that is interfering with her sleeping through the night. Is it appropriate to increase her dose and/or frequency and what is the potential downside?

Dear it may be due to Alzheimer's disease may be due to autonomic neuropathy or Parkinson plus syndrome with multisystem atropy,it maybe due to post menopausal syndrome etc..

high dose of Gabapentine can cause dizziness,
drowsiness,unsteadiness,memory loss,
lack of coordination,difficulty speaking,
viral infections,tremors etc..

until examination is done it is difficult to say what is the causative please consult your neurologist he will examine and treat you accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
