Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Hip Osteoarthritis Cause Recurring Sharp Pains In The Groin?
I started having sharp groin pains 6 mos ago. It more or less started over night, but is not related to an injury. My family Dr did XRays and said I have early stages of hip osteoarthritis. He prescribed Relavan and physical therapy. I have noticed no improvement, and if anything, worsening. Just doesn t feel like the right diagnosis to me.
It could be due to arthritis. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
