Does Holding A Sneeze Cause Throat Discomfort?

Hello, I just held in a sneeze by pinching my nose, however some sound still came out of my mouth. However, I feel a slight lump in my throat when I swallow but it does not hurt much when I swallow as well. That said, when I breathe in my passageway feels airy. I can still talk as well. I am not sure if I m over thinking this, please advise if this reaction is normal.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from turbinate hypertrophy or nasal polyp or adenoids or tonsillar hypertrophy.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and do endoscopy then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
