Hello, good afternoon, My name is Maria i m 18 years old, i currently live with my soon to be husband the only problem is that he is 37 years of age. My question is, that since a little over a month ago we ve been having unprotected sex with the intention of me becoming pregnant...over that time i had what you call pregnancy symptoms (frequent urine, fatigue, nausea) but yet i still got my period and really bad cramps...am pretty sure that meant i m not pregnant...is the problem his age or what can it be??

Hello and I hope I can answer your question.

The age difference between you and your husband will not put you at risk for fertility problems. Men over 50 years old can have some age related issues, but your husband is young enough that this will not be a problem.

80 percent of couples will conceive within a year, so it may not happen for a while. You have only tried one month so try to be patient. If your period comes late, do a pregnancy test. If you are not this month, wait and see for the next month.

You should consider getting a checkup by an OBGYN if you haven't in your life since you just became sexually active. Also they can give you advice about pregnancy and teach you about what to expect.
