Does Infection Cause Vaginal Itching And White Discharge?

hi my name is maria and i have a question, i have been feeling this itching sensation on the inside of my vagina and when i scratch it burns, is that a sign of an infection? also every time i go to the bathroom i see white stuff on my panties, is that also an infection?....thank you i'll be waiting for your answer
