Does Inhalation Of Burnt Plastic Fumes Cause Any Side Effects?
hi there, so I was letting my 10 year old cook and she turned on the wrong burner, there was a lid with a plastic knob sitting on the burner, I had gone to the bathroom and when I came out there was smoke in the air and smell of plastic. I quicklt threw open the doors and windows and put the kids outside while things clears. my daughter and I now feel tired....there wasn t much smoke in the air but I fear we enhaled some and though we have been getting fresh air for about 45 minutes we are still having some symptoms..no one is coughing or anything...will we be ok or do I need to get help?
Well if the exposure was not too long and you or your kids have not been in extensive smoke exposure then you need not worry about it. Also, there are no severe symptoms that can look towards any exposure toxicity.
So my suggestion is to keep a watch on your and your kid's symptoms and if at all you have any difficulty immediately consult an Emergency room. However, I don't think there is anything to worry about.
For tiredness take some rest and drink sufficient water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
