Does Injury To The Pinky Finger Indicate Extensor Tendon Injury?

Hi I hurt my pinky finger a month ago while scraping and chipping off cement splatter off my house vinyl siding with another piece of siding. I was using a repeated motion of scraping and trying to snap off the splatters. It hurts pretty much any way I bend it and is not getting better but worse. It gets stiff if I put it in a splint. I just had it x-rayed and have no fracture or break. Could I have a torn tendon? How should I treat without going to an orthopedic doctor. I am 55 yrs old and I have osteoarthritis in my feet and other areas in my body. My doctor first thought I had RA but now thinks I Fibromyalgia. The pain definitely followed my attempt to clean off the cement splatters.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the punky finger hurts because of tendinitis due to injury. Having osteoarthritis makes the situation worse.
I think you may need to use antinflamatory drugs such advil or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
