Does Insect Bite Cause Redness And Scabs On Ankles?

What tiny tiny insect is biting my sister s ankles and leaving red, highly itchy scabs. This does not seem to be flea bites. No one else has the problem....just her. This has been going on for almost three weeks....sometimes other areas on her front have been bitten as well. Cortizone 10 does not help hardly at all.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you are having are typically those of insect bite, redness and swelling on bare parts such ankles. Take antihistamines such citerizine or benadryl for itching. Use cold compresses on the bite. Use hydrocortisone cream also on the bite side.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
