Does Insulin Injection Help With The Low Amniotic Fluid?

Hi Doctor, Am here to discuss on my Wife s low amniotic fluid issue. Yesterday she had been went for ultrascan n found that baby is not growing as per the recommended growth. she is 21 weeks pregant n baby growth is 18 weeks due to not much flow of blood circulation n low amniotic fluid. Dr had prescribed to take ARG9 once in a day n some tablets. She e ven wanted to inject insulin every alter day in order to increase the fluid level. Can you please let me know if this will help my wife n me to have our baby without any dis orders n safe delivery. or it will cause any miscarriage. Am really concerned as after struggling for 2 long years, my wife has conceived. plz advise us.

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

ARG9 will definitely help.

But please DONOT take insulin for increasing fluid. It not only will not do so but insulin injection is dangerous if she is not a daibetic as it can cause hypoglycemia.

Regards,

Dr. Som MD
