Does Intake Of Beyaz Long Term Cause Infrequent Periods?

Hi! I have been on beyaz for 8 years now. I take my pill regularly or try to take it close to the same time every night. I have taken a few breaks from the birth control. My last time was a few years ago, but my doctor said that I no longer need to do so. For the past couple months I have noticed my periods getting lighter and starting later. I m worried because I have not had my period this time around and I took my first active pill yesterday. Is it normal for my period to decrease like this? I m really worried.

Beyaz contains both ethinyl estradiol and drospirenone which is used in the prevention of unwanted pregnancies from unprotected sexual intercourses. It also used to treat various menstrual problems like irregular, painful or heavy menstrual bleeding. Like other medications, Beyaz has some side effects too. It may cause changes in menstrual cycles. It may cause lighter bleeding, delayed periods, breakthrough bleeding or spotting between the periods during menstrual cycles.

These are common side effects of Beyaz when someone has used this medication for long time. Usually, these side effects don't need any medical treatment and they will go away over time on their own. But, if these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor first for medical help. Before stop taking this medication, you should inform your doctor.
