Does Intake Of Combantrin Cause Upset Stomach, Dizziness And Loss Of Appetite?

I have taken a dose of combantrin twice about 5 days apart as the first dose did not work 100 percent. 4 days after taking the second dose I have some side effects,including upset stomach,dizzyness and loss of appetite. It still did not work. Any Ideas,could this be a water related parasite that I may have picked up and possible need to see a doctor for examination and samples?

Hi,

Combantrin tablet contains pyrantel which belongs to the group of medications known as anthelmintics is used to treat intestinal worm infections like pinworm, round worm and hookworm. It works as a neuro muscular blocking agent, effectively paralyzing the worms inside the body. This allows them to be passed out of the body with a bowel movement. Combantrin is a single dose administration and may need to be repeated in two to three weeks.

Side effects of Combantrin are nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dizziness, GIT upset, loss of appetite, headache, drowsiness, diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, irritability, symptoms of allergic reactions like rash, itchiness, swelling of lips, tongue or throat, breathing difficulties etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor for medical help. You can also undergo stool, R/M/E and C/S to exclude the causes.
