Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Intake Of Escitalopram Help In Treating PTSD?
I have taken Escitalopram 5mg for 6 days and I feel WORSE than I did not taking it. Should I continue taking it or try something else? My problem is that I denied serious traumas most of my life and just worked on the solutions with a smile. i.e. daughter s suicide; and at age 30 my husband and I were hit by a drunk driver and each had serious brain injuries. I took my husband home as a vegetable and taught him to walk & talk although doctors would not help me (in 1976-79). Now I m feeling those tauma feelings (which I cannot identify) and I was prescribed the above drug.
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. First of all very sorry to hear about the traumas you have gone through. May God gives you the strength.
I believe you should take the medicine your doctor has prescribed you. it will definitely help you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
