Hello Doctor, I and my partner had a completely protected sex on 13th November and I took an Ipill within an hour of our intercourse. My period date was of 8th, today is 16th and I still haven't got my periods yet.. I have been trying and eating all those household remedies like sesame seeds with honey, turmeric water, jaggery water.. but i still haven't got my periods.. I'm very much tensed.. Please help or suggest me something
Your period date is 8th. You had sex on 13th November, so you did that in safe period of the cycle. If I assume you have regular cycle of 28 to 30 days, you took I-pill within hour of sex. It is highly effective in preventing the pregnancy around 95 to 98% in you case. So chance of pregnancy is very less, around 0 to 5%.
I-pill contains high progesterone and cause hormonal imbalance. It cause prolongation of second phase of cycle and delayed in period by 1 to 2 weeks. So wait for your period to come. If period is delayed by more than 2 weeks, then consult the gynecologist and undergo urine pregnancy test and/or blood HCG test to confirm the pregnancy.
Meanwhile avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water and do regular exercise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar
