Does Intake Of Norethisterone Cause Delay In Periods?

I have been given norethisterone to take as going on holiday. I ve been on them now for 3 days. I ve also had a continuous flow of bleeding/brown discharge for a month now. Will these tablets stop it? If not what do you recommend I take as would like to be able to go in pool while on holiday and wear a bikini

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

To can continue to take norethisterone because it will stop bleeding and spotting and will delay your period. If you stop taking it the period may come within 7 days of stopping it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
