Does Intake Of Paroxetine For Long Term Cause Impaired Movement?
my mom age 94 takes paroxetine At 5 am and 8 am this am she call and was flopping around in bed very difficult to sit up she sat up with help and was able to stand no stroke symptoms This has never happened before she has been visiting sing thanksgiving and was to return home today, alone in the house Does she need to go to ER? Could this be a sideeffect of the drug, she has been taking it for several months only other RX aaaamlodipine besylate 5mg
Changes in mental status are reasons for immediate evaluation. They often are due to serious potentially fatal problems. It is unlikely for a drug that has been taken for a long time to suddenly have a severe side effect. It would be ironic if it were Serotonin syndrome with an interaction between serotonin re uptake inhibitors and Serotonin (turkey). It seems very UNLIKELY and infection, stroke, other serious problem is more likely.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
