Does Intake Of Primolut Cause Irregular Periods?

Hi doctor I had a question I used primolut to delay my periods the previous month, as I was on holidays, then the periods started on 17th of the previous month. Now its 20th of this month and I am worried as my periods are due for 3 days. Any suggestions. Provide recommendations and consultation. Thanks.

Hi,

When you take hormones for postponement of periods, the next period is shifted as the normal cycle resumes after the withdrawal bleeding so you expect it around date of your postponed periods(though the cycle may resume it's normal date within few months. Another possibility is after taking oral hormones for any cause the following month is mostly an ovulatory cycle, so there is chance of conception following postponed period (if you are not careful.
