Does Intake Of Progyluton White Pills Lead To Early Periods?

hi Dr. i am taking progyluton medication since may 2015. however, in course of taking the white medicines, i accidentally took a brown tablet one day while i was on the white tablet schedule. from the next day i continued with the white tablets again. (my Dr. asked me only to take the white tablets). now after 4 days of completion of my white tablet schedule, i have started my periods from yesterday 13th june, 2015. this is very untimely, as my periods were due on 26-28th of june, 2015. what does this mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

White tablet is estrogen only and brown has estrogen and progesterone. Once you stop taking progesterone you can get period or breakthrough bleeding within or just after 3 days. That is what happened in your case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
