General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Since your son has bronchial asthma, it is advisable not to give ibuprofen for any reason. It can cause breathlessness leading to an acute attack of asthma.
Please watch out for any shortness of breath, wheezing or chest tightness. If so promptly take your inhalers. If it does not reduce after inhalers, visit the emergency department.
