Does Intake Of Emergency Contraceptive Pill Cause Bleeding?

Hi my name is yanaa, so me and my boyfriend had protected sex on 9th December and I took the emergency pill the next day at night at around 7:40 I can't really remember but now I'm worried since I haven't seen any signs of me bleeding because they say after taking the pill your period comes after and this is the 3rd day since I took it and I'm panicking what can be happening because this is the first time I'm having sex?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You took emergency contraceptive pill after sex. If you have taken pill on next day, but if you took it with in 24 hours then it is highly effective in preventing the pregnancy (95-98% effective). If you have taken after 24 hours then it is 80-85% effective in preventing the pregnancy.Withdrawal bleeding is not occur in all cases. It is occur in 50% users. I pill can cause earlier period, delayed period by 1 to 2 weeks and excessive bleeding.

Now I would to suggest wait for the period. If period will delay by more than 2 weeks then go for urine pregnancy test and or blood HCG test to confirm the pregnancy. If you will be pregnant then you can still terminate intrauterine pregnancy by abortion pill under the supervision of gynecologist. Meanwhile avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water and do regular exercise.
